A Ferry Crossing on the Clare Route

Tarbert Ferry – Killimer

This is a Ferry Crossing Point connecting counties Clare and Kerry

The Killimer – Tarbert Car Ferry connects counties Clare (Killimer) and Kerry (Tarbert).

How long does the Ferry Take?

The Tarbert Ferry takes 20 minutes to cross the Shannon estuary.

The ferry departs from Killimer every hour on the hour (7.00hrs – 21.00hrs) and from Tarbert every hour on the half hour (07.30hrs – 21.30hrs) during the high season when there are two ferries in operation.

This Ro-Ro (Roll On – Roll Off) car ferry will save you about 2 hours driving time and offers a change of scenery and a chance to stretch your legs while still making progress towards your destination.

Winter schedules start later and end earlier and Sunday times may vary. See the current timetable on the Shannon Ferries website.

Ferry Price

It costs €20 for a car which is well worth it for the time saved and the photo opportunities from the upper deck (weather permitting of course!).

There are restrooms onboard and a small shop selling refreshments.
