A Cork Wild Atlantic Way Discovery Point

Cunnamore Pier

This is a Ferry Crossing Point (Embarkation Point) for Heir Island and Sherkin Island

This is a beautiful area on the shores of Roaringwater Bay in West Cork. Cunnamore Pier is just 15 kilometres from Skibbereen, about 25 minutes by car and is a departure point, as well as Baltimore Harbour, to islands in the bay. The road approching the pier is narrow and winding, be careful of oncoming traffic.

Take a 4 minute ferry journey from Cunnamore Pier to Heir Island, also spelled Hare Island or onward to Sherkin Island, a journey of approximately 20 minutes.

Danny Murphy, of Heir Island ferries offers a friendly service and very reasonable rates aboard MV The Boy Colm. At the time of writing this article the fare was €6 per adult return to Heir Island and €10 per adult return to Skerkin Island.
