Garnish (Garinish) Island
Garnish Island (Ilnacullin or Garinish) is a Wild Atlantic Way Discovery Point located in the harbour of Glengarriff in Bantry Bay. Garnish Island is accessed by ferry from Glengarriff Pier.
Garnish is world renowned for its wonderful gardens and beautiful walks (15 hectares). Garinish Island is open to the public from 1st March to 31st October. It is the perfect place for picnics with walks, gardens, a cafe and a Martello tower looking out over the bay. The gardens are a lush sub-tropical vegetation. Wonderful photo opportunities abound particularly from the top of the tower.
